Welcome To The Labyrinth!

Ever since I first discovered/was found by The Phantom Of The Opera when I was ten, I have believed that this story holds profound and powerful spiritual, ethical and moral teachings – if I may borrow a term from my Indigenous colleagues – that we need to build a better, more just and equitable, beautiful world. And as weird as I know this may sound, I believe this is especially true of the incarnation of this story brought to life in the Andrew Lloyd Webber stage musical! Indeed, this conviction is really the heart of my own Christo-Pagan spiritual practice – a syncretism of Neo-Pagan practice based on and dedicated to The Phantom and progressive Christian theology, hence the Phan Mage. Thus, most of my work, both academic and non, is about sharing this wisdom and magic with the world!

So, my main non-academic projects are listed below, and you can also keep up with them and me on my social media. I’m erik_phantasia on Instagram, and you can also check out my The Phan Mage page on Facebook. And if you find my work useful or meaningful, I’d be extremely grateful if you’d consider buying me a beverage. All my work is very much a labour of love, so every bit of support is enormously appreciated!!

My Substack

At the moment, this is the only one of my projects that’s actually up and going. My main blog/newsletter, Wisdom From The Phantom Of The Opera For The World We Need, is where I primarily share the spiritual, moral and ethical wisdom I find in PHantom and the ways I’ve found to translate that into a lived practice. I also have a subsection, called Stage Craft Magik, where I explore what modern magik and Witchcraft can learn from live theatre and vice-versa. You can find it via the “about” page of my main blog.

My Drag!! (Launching soon.)

Meet Erik Phantasia! What can I say? I’ve been going in drag as The Phantom for Halloween since I was ten, and recently got inspired to do it as performance!! Though, yes, I also consider it part of my spiritual and magical practice.

My podcast – Spirit and Voice: Magical Worlds of The Phantom Of The Opera

Coming later this year I hope, depending on the progress of various academic projects that are currently devouring my spoons.

Here, I’ll talk about the many levels of magic and brilliance in Phantom, especially the original Andrew Lloyd Webber stage musical. Though, I’ll certainly talk about other incarnations, too, including Phanfic! And there’ll likely be some overlap with my Substack as well, talking about Phantom as a spiritual path.

*******

So those are my main projects and activities. I do hope you enjoy them and find them engaging, as they’re all very much labours of love!
